Thanks for all the replies - I was able to fix it. It was a silly mistake.
I did not specify a column list, so when the trigger fired, the statement
that the trigger executed would cause the trigger to fire again. I am
sure you can see how that would be a problem. I just listed all the
colums except the one that the trigger was updating and it all worked
fine. Thanks for everyone's input!
