DB2's version of UNIQUE WHERE NOT NULL

DB2's version of UNIQUE WHERE NOT NULL

Is there any way in DB2 UDB V8.2 to implement this concept - unique where not null? In other words a column which is unique when it isn't null, but multiple/duplicate nulls need to be allowed. I believe DB2 Mainframe allows it but in UDB the UNIQUE constraint appears to require NOT NULL data.

All I can thing of is to define the column as allowing nulls and to enforce uniqueness thru insert and update triggers. Any other bright ideas from anyone?

Best, Hal

To All,
I am currently downloading DB2 version 8.2, FP 8 for Windows. In this
version, can you drop a column? Can you rename a column? Thanks.
