get your disk person to show you how they are striping and place your data
across all the stripes.

You need to work closely with the array person

Re: DB2 V7.2 on Windows 2003 Server

Hi all,

We are moving our DB2 7.2 UDB for Windows to a new server with Windows 2003
Server (I already told you that!).

In the old server we have one disk for the operating system and the logs,
and three disks for the DB2 data. We are not using any kind of RAID, DB2 is
writing directly to the disks.

In the new server we have eigth disks, that we configured in RAID 5. The
array space is divided in two logical units, one for OP and logs, the other
for the data.

The problem is that the performance of the new server is much worse than
the
performance of the old server! I guess it is not a problem with the DB2
configuration, because GZIP also performed very badly in this new server.

Any ideas? Does anydoby have experience in running DB2 for Windows over
disk
arrays?

Best regards,
