LISTOWNER - LazyDBA paid membership

Listers,

I'm having to answer a *lot* of email regarding the list, and a lot of the
time I end up troubleshooting things with the person's postmaster etc, which
is ridiculous considering I don't get paid for any of this. What pushed
the issue , is people now treat LazyDBA as a paid-for-service with service
level agreements and support. It's not ! People seem to complain if I and/or
the list doesn't do what they want fast enough. This has finally crossed a
personal threshold for me.

So, there will now be two levels of LazyDBA membership. Someone who is here
for free, and someone who has paid (or more likely , got their boss to pay)
a yearly subscription. The bottom line is the paid up member gets support ,
and the non paid up member is on their own as far as the workings of the
list goes. ( This means that emails sent to me about the list will be
ignored )

Also, the income from paid up members will make sure LazyDBA continues to
function as a good meeting place for DBAs.

I expect most of the paid-up members to be paid for by their company.... or
by the tax man if you're a consultant etc., as LazyDBA would be a
professional expense. I would expect very few people would have to pay with
their own money.

I'll have more details in the next few days.

If you have any questions about membership etc, then send me an email, and
don't ask the list, because I'm the ony one who'll be able to answer ..

Regards,
Henry.
