RE: Performance Tweaking

RE: Performance Tweaking

No offense to MSSQL users.
MSSQL? Do you live in the flinstone world? If you would like to upgrade to
enterprise edition of MSSQL, you probably consider to change your sql
server, because MSSQL server only can handle the data up to 8TB (cluster) or
2TB (single server). MySQL can handle 64TB (4TB with reiserFS, 2TB Win2003).
From this, you can see that Microsoft is not really great product for server
needs.

This is the mySQL group but if you are going all the way up to
Enterprise version, I myself, would uninstall and then re-install. Heck,
I would fdisk the harddrives and reformat. Enterprise Version is the
most expensive, most feature ridden version there is--luck you!

of course, I'm no expert. I just like fdisking my hardrive to solve
problems.

Would anyone know if 1 can upgrade MSSQL 2000 (installed on a server)
from the Desktop Edition to the Enterprise Edition? There is the final
option of uninstalling and re-installing but was wondering if there
was
a direct upgrade tool 1 could use...
