RE: Wait events

RE: Wait events

Satheesh,
Thanks for the help. I am facing performance problem. This is a MIS
database and mostly there is no manual intervention. The loading of the data
is done using Cognos Decision Stream.
Thanks
Ravi Boppudi

These are ideal event. Are you facing performance issue? If not then your
safe. If you face any you might have to look into your network and also code
if it putting lot of load on network. But your top event is ".. from client"
that is server is especting users input. Even if the user open a screen and
not doing anything the time for this even will get increased.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello Gurus,
Event Total Waits
Timeouts Time Waited Time Waited in Hrs
SQL*Net message from client 34294395 0
46621313 129.5
SQL*Net message to client 34294378 0

SQL*Net more data to client 7000469 0
60597 0.2
rdbms ipc message 3584851 2789030

These are my wait events. I feel the the network between my application
server and Database is very slow. Is this the case ? Or am I interpreting
wrongly ?
What is rdbms ipc message ?

Can anyone pl share their understanding of above numbers? Thanks Ravi
Boppudi.
