Sorry, you can't use the .dbf's and transportable tablespaces between versions isn't supported until both db's are at least version 10. exp/imp or upgrade path 816-->8174-->9.2 or 10 looks like your only choice.

Hi,

We are in a nearly situation where we have to make a migration of our data
from 8.1.6 to 10g.

Tried the exp/imp utilities, but get a lot of errors when trying to import,
therefore I wonder if a copy of synchronized 8.1.6 .dbf files maybe could be
used directly under a 10g platform.

Is it possible or anybody having experience with this?
