Did you look at db_blockers? Which session was blocking it and what was
that session doing at the time?

Subject: read only command
Hi,
I've created a tablespace and was trying to to issue the following
command:
alter tablespace ts_name read only
this command hung over the weekend even though all other processing on
the
database was in different tablespaces
looking in dba_waiters showed that my command was waiting on another
session. Can anyone explain why?
I have tried the command as a normal user as well as sysdba, some
effect.
I'm running 9.2.0.5 on Windows 2003
