RE: Database Upgrade Assistant reports ORA-12560

Hey Michael,

Is there a description of a manual upgrade somewhere?
The upgrade is a prelude to a SAP upgrade, and I try to follow the
manuals as much as possible.

Do yourself a favor and do the upgrade manually. Using the upgrade
assistant frequently has issues like you are seeing.

Hello,

I seem to crawl from error to error during my upgrade from Oracle
8.1.7.3.2 to 9.2.0.5.2.

I'm trying to start the Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant. I skip the
welcome screen and get the step where I must select the database to
upgrade.

There is only one database listed (TST - D:\Oracle\TST\817) that I can
choose. I choose this one and continue. The Database Upgrade Assistant
now shows a dialog "etting Database information - please wait".
Immediately after this, I get an "ORA-12560: TNS: Protocol adapter
error" that I can't get around.

I've already copied the listener.ora, sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora from
the old home to the new, but this did not help.

Does anybody have an idea?
