What compress=y does is set the value of each "initial extent" clause
to a value that causes the "create" commands (create table, create index,
etc.) within the export file to fit each objects contents into the initial
extent on import.

Compress parameter tells whether you want all the data compress in one
extent if specify compress=y else it will export the data according to the
corresponding extent present in the object
