Change only shmmax (for hp at least).


Your Oracle it's 32 bit... the O/S it's also 32 bit?


If yes... 4 Gb it's the maximum.


If you run Oracle 32 bit in O/S 64 bit, you need to set SHMMAX to
1GB exactly. This is an important requirement when you want to
extend the SGA beyond the 1GB. (don't forget to relink oracle
binaries, after O/S upgrade)



But I advise you to put Oracle Binaries and O/S in 64 bits.
