Starting an Oracle9i database (9.0.1.x) fails with the following: SQL>
startup ORA-24323: value not allowed ORA-24323: value not allowed
Symptom(s) ~~~~~~~~~~ SQL> startup; ORA-24323: value not allowed
ORA-27146: post/wait initialization failed You may also receive an ORA-7445
error in the alert log or an ORA-3113 error. ORA-3113: end-of-file on
communication channel ) Change(s) ~~~~~~~~~ Increased the processes
parameter in the initSID.ora file and restarted database. Problem ~~~~~~~
Database will not startup. Fix ~~~~ Either decrease the processes parameter
or increase the semaphore kernel settings at the OS level to accomodate the
increased requirements. You will receive the following errors in a version
9.2 database. ORA-27303: additional information: invalid shared ctx
ORA-27146: post/wait initialization failed ORA-27300: OS system dependent
operation:semget failed with status: 28 ORA-27301: OS failure message: No
space left on
device ORA-27302: failure occurred at: sskgpcreates

Hi,
I've just copied a db on solaris & tried to start copy (after reducunbd
db_block_buffer & shared_pool_size) and get the aboiver error - anyone got
any Ideas ?
I have got 2 gig onf memory on the solaris box & the orig db is using
1114mb.
would anyone have Ideas Ideas how much memory I could use for the test
system ?
