I would recommend:

- Increase your RAID cahce as large as you can. Some can have as much as
4GB or more of cache, and I would go to the maximum on your array.
- Check your raid settings and make sure you are not on write through,
minimizing the writes from cache.
- Try adding some RAID 1 pairs for temp and undo tablespaces.
- Maximize the memory used by your instance
- Reduce the checkpoint frequency.
- Increase the size of your redo logs.
- If you are running in archive log mode, do not write to the primary array.
