Hi,

dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session should output to the
user_dump_dest directory. Mine gives procedure completed sucessfully,
but no trace file on the session. Why would this occur ? I checked all
the rights to the directory, and they are fine, I can read/write to
the directory, but oracle is not starting a trace.

sid and serial# are from v$session. Is there anyway to check
whether the trace is on in as session ?

neither dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session or
dbms_session.set_sql_trace work, and
dbms_system.set_ev(sid,serialno#,10046,12,'') also gives no output.

Do I require time_statistics set true, or another system
parameter ?
