This is a upgrade question. We're running 8.1.6 on SGI.
Oracle discontinued SGI support a while back. I was told
by the program manager how do we get this to a Solaris machine ?
This s a 300 GIG database - production. We had planned to
go to 8.1.7 but now the terminal release is 8.1.7.4.
If you were building a new system on Solaris I am thinking that I'd
like at least 9.2.0.4.
What steps would you take on the old system and new to get there ?
Do you have to go to 8.1.7.4 on the old first, Can you use
RMAN then to duplicate the database on Solaris using a 8.1.7.4 base
for a 9.2.0.4 system. I need a plan to do this.
Appreciate any ideas you can share.
