Yes this is the case with the oracle. You need to have red hat linux 2.1
or 3.0 version to support all the functionality of oracle server. Even
oracle installation document speaks of installing oracle server on 2.1
or 3.0 version of linux. You need to purchase the enterprise version of
linux. These are the enterprise editions of linux and they come at a
cost and is not available at free of cost as linux 7.3 or linux 8 etc
versions are available.
