Subject: Oracle 8i automatic start
I have a customer that reboots their Win2k server and though all Oracle
services are set to automatic and say started, Oracle's not available. If
we run 'startup' from server manager, the db comes right up. I put a .bat
file in Windows startup folder to get it to bring it up each time the
machine restarts, but this is a temp workaround. Anyone have an idea why
Oracle's not coming up automatically. I know I haven't provided much info
here but I haven't been able to connect to the server first hand to see it
yet. It was working fine until yesterday when I think their IT did some
'upgrades' namely upgraded a separate WINS server and now each box has a
lmhosts file now, but this is unfamiliar territory for me, so I'm not sure
that would impact it.
Thanks,
Chad
