This is going to be a single instance machine
2.7 GB (using the thumb rule of 2/3 Physical Memory for Oracle) can be given to the instance
We shall be running home grown Web Applications

What does your init file look like now? Are you only going to have one
instance on this machine or multiple? How much memory do you want to
dedicate to this instance?
Is this a test system? What kind of Database are you creating (OLTP,
Warehouse, Customer facing, etc)? Are you looking to use Oracle Apps or a
home grown application?
