Re: ORACLE 8 and AIX 5.x

Re: ORACLE 8 and AIX 5.x

You don't need any "special" version of 8.1.7 for aix 5.1 I know for
sure. As far as 5.2/3 or true Oracle 8 (i.e. 8.0.x) I'm not sure. If
you have metalink access, you might try the compatibility matrix for
your versions/platform...

Hello all.

We have an AIX 4.3 box with oracle 8. If we upgrade to aix5, will we
need
to install a new version of oracle 8, for aix 5x? I know that oracle 9
had
two versions, one for aix 4.3 and aix 5.

Does anyone know if we will need to get a new, aix5 version of oracle
8?

(we cannot upgrade to oracle 9 due to a specific application on that
machine).

Thank you for your assistance!
