Does anyone has any experience with real-time data warehousing? At my work
the business wants to create a
real-time reporting environment for some transactions and we are looking at
how to get the data from the operational
environment into the reporting one in the "real" time (may be once every
hour). One option that we touched upon
was using a logminer to get all the inserts made into a specific table and
use the output to copy the data into
the reporting DB. Has someone tried using the logminer in such mode? Any
other options (besides dumping
operational data into a flat file every hour) to accomplish the "real" time
reporting?
