Is there a backup running? I've got a problem with mine right now where
around midnightish when the incremental backup hits the machine, I get a
"redo log write error" then "another process has locked a portion of the
file" followed by a "LGWR: terminating instance due to error 340" so I
have to restart everything in the morning.
It's in one of our test databases so I haven't gotten around to solving
the problem, but it's a PowerEdge 2650 and the problem sounds the same.

Subject: Urgent. ORA-12541
I installed Oracle on a Dell PowerEdge4600 with dual Xeon processors
running Windows 2000 server.
Everything seemed fine. My user calls and says he is getting a =
ORA-12541.
Sure enough the listener isn't responding. lsnrstl status shows that the
= listener thinks the database service has died. I look through all the
logs. = Nothing. I recycle the database and everything works. Fifteen
minutes later the = problem reappears.
Anyone have any ideas?
