Reasons I can think of,

1. Sort area not enough
2. Temp ts is small
3. Index ts is fragmented or too many small extents

AM Create Index Taking Too Long










I am able to move the 220,000,000 row table using a create table as select
in 3 minutes but it takes 13 minutes to create an index on the table. I
appreciate any advice you can provide.
