RE: v$log

Suresh,

But, I see the status being "ACTIVE" even "after" the file got archived ?
I tried it myself.

RE: v$log

Status Active is the log that is taken up for Archiving. Once done, it
becomes Inactive. The log that is currently being written to will be shown
as Current. If the archiving has been disabled, then after the log switch,
the status will be active but archived =NO.

Folks,

Question : What's the difference between ( STATUS=ACTIVE, ARCHVIED=YES
) and (STATUS=INACTIVE, ARCHIVED=YES) in the V$LOG view.

I can understand that (status=active, archived=NO) means, file is not
archived yet and needed for instance recovery but, why should it show the
status= "active" when the file was "archived" already.

I am missing something, please clear up my confusion.

-Thanks
