depends on who you ask but would say its *much* easier on windows
1 no sa to deal with
2 no cdroms to mount
3 no *real* file systems to mount or deal with
less permissions to be concerned with

less than 1 hour for install with a general database + 1 hour

I think thats overkill ;-) but you can always find the release notes for
the distribution/platform from metalink (get fresh ones)
