Good point. Actually, if you have OEM, this is exactly what Oracle does
when your reorg a tablespace if you look at the script that is
generated.

(again, don't forget to rebuild your indexes)

Good recovery of tablespace happens when you move all contents of the
tablespace to another tablespace, coalesce the first tablespace and then
move contents back from other tablespace to first one.
