WG: Conn / as sysdba

WG: Conn / as sysdba

Have a look on 'ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/sqlnet.ora'.
I think following statement has to be set:
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)

Good luck!

Make sure you are in the user group "dba" on the linux box. If you are not
you cannot use / as sysdba;

Conn / as sysdba

Hi there,

2 questions:

1) I'm logging in linux as the 'oracle' user but when trying to 'connect /
as sysdba' it gives me 'insufficient privileges' error...
All environment variables (ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME, etc) are set, and the
param REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE = exclusive.
Shouldn't I be able to login using '/ as sysdba' wher logged in OS with the
'oracle' user? The manager said 'conn / as sysdba' used to work, but another
DBA did something wrong and it doesn't work anymore... Any ideas about what
to check and how could I fix it?

2) This should be easy but I don't know how to connect as sysdba without
issuing 'sqlplus /nolog' -> 'conn / as sysdba'
Ex:

c:\> sqlplus
LOGIN: <what do I put here to login as sysdba?>
PASSWORD: <what do I put here to login as sysdba?>

I hope you can help me. Thanks so much!
