Hi Gurus!

I am running oracle 8.1.7.4 on unix on a vpn. My web server is
outside the vpn in a dmz. We have made a rule in the firewall to allow
connection through portr 1521. From the web server tnsping works however
I cannot connect through any means (sqlplus or others) with databases
outside of the VPN. I did a quick search on the we and found lots of other
dba who have experienced this problem but no solution. Can any of you
shed some light on what might be the resolution to this problem ?

Any insight into experience that you guys might have had will be
deeply appreciated.
