RE: Re[2]: Microsoft Visual SourceSafe

Under the "Tools" option in Visual SourceSafe Admin (version 6.0), you can control what the "developers" do! Hehe!

We have SourceSafe as well, and I was tasked with the Admin of this beast.

SourceSafe is not a secure system, and believe it or not, even a user who has "read only" access in SourceSafe can actually still delete the entire SourceSafe database via the backend!

Still, it is better than having nothing!

Cheers,

Paul

Yeah, we have it and it sucks. (but that's just a personal opinion).

I can't say I know all about it as we have no 'administrator', it's
basically a free for all. ie developers check in and out code, and
dba's pull and install.

For security purposes, maybe if implemented properly it would work, but
it does not 'branch' like PVCS.
