To_date('08/09/05','mm/dd/yy')

If the column data type is DATE, then it will return whatever default
date formate is set NLS parameters. The default is 'dd-mon-yy'

Hi all,

How do I, when inserting dates in a table, get the sysdate format no
matter how the date is entered.
example if sysdate is 08-SEP-05 how do I insert 08/09/05.
