Can you define "time out" and "crash"? Oracle won't time out a query
unless your DBA has configured a profile that limits how long a
statement runs. I've never seen a query crash-- is it doing something
like running out of temporary space?
What is the clause the forces the full table scan? Is it possible to
create an index that would eliminate the full table scan?

Subject: Full Table Scan - Query Times Out
Hi Gurus
If a full table scan causes a query to time out or crash what can I do
to investigate and resolve. Note: the query runs fine if the where
clause causing the full table scan is commented out.
Ideas greatly appreciated.
Cheers
David
