Just for sanity, do you really mean that you're trying to use an 8 kb
block size rather than a 4 kb block size? Neither 4 MB nor 8 MB are
valid block sizes for a database.

Subject: Db_Block_Size(Urgent)
Hi Gurus,
Iam creating a database in Oracle 9i Release(9.0.1.0.1) . In this Block
Size(default) is of 4 Mb. So when i use this the database is created
succesfully.
But when I Change the db_block_size = 8 Mb . . It fails in creating a
database.
Why is this so?
Thank you in Advance
Regards
