RE: Db_Block_Size(Urgent)

Good catch Justin! I think the max block size you can go is about 32K. I am not sure if we can go for 64K size but my present understanding say 32K is the largest block size we can have.

Just for sanity, do you really mean that you're trying to use an 8 kb
block size rather than a 4 kb block size? Neither 4 MB nor 8 MB are
valid block sizes for a database.

Subject: Db_Block_Size(Urgent)

Hi Gurus,

Iam creating a database in Oracle 9i Release(9.0.1.0.1) . In this Block
Size(default) is of 4 Mb. So when i use this the database is created
succesfully.
But when I Change the db_block_size = 8 Mb . . It fails in creating a
database.
Why is this so?
Thank you in Advance

Regards
Satish R
