Ty,
Sorry, that did not help. That put an Apache server on the
laptop but the iSQLPLUS layer/config was not there and I don't know how
to do that.
I am thinking there must be some place that I can just install
the iSQLPLUS server/middle tier/HTTP piece all at once.
Thank you
doug

Subject: HTTP Server on Laptop
Hi Folks!
I would like to be able to use iSQLPLUS. But I don't want to run
the HTTP server on any of my database servers - I would like my laptop
to be the server. I have not been able to find a place to load just the
HTTP server (Apache stuff) on my laptop. I have CDs for 9i client and
9i Database for Windows and 9i Lite. I have XP Professional on the
laptop. I can't find what I need on the client or Lite. When I try to
use the database one I get an error about a valid Win32 application. I
suspect that means I am not (can not?) run the laptop in 64-bit mode.
Is anyone out there using their laptop/desktop as the HTTP server?
How did you do it? I am thinking either our security people or our
network people may get upset about something web enabled running for
hackers to find? Or I will start the HTTP server on a database server
only to find that the port is not open to the firewall and I won't be
able to use it after all.
Thank you
Doug
