Pro*C compiler

Pro*C compiler

One of my collegue is facing a problem in compiling PRO*C code. I wonder if any of you have dealt with a similar issue in the past. If so please reply any solutions or work arounds. I am reproducing below the problem faced by my collegue:
"...Please let me know if you or any one going though following issue
We are getting compiler issue with Pro*C on Oracle Release 1 and Release 2 on Sun Solaris 8 (64 bit)
We are using gcc version 3.4.2.
Last week on compiler certification note, Oracle Support told that this version of gcc supported on Release 2.
When we moved to Release 2 , now they removed gcc from certified compiler on 10/26/2005.
I heard that, some client are changing make file to get gcc work with Oracle DB R1 and R2. Please let me know if you know any information on this.
If I use solaris C compiler I am able to compile this. But there is long process to get this license.
See the following error I am getting
[oldproddb.autooneins.com]AOPR-/export/home/oracle/local/bin>cc -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/3.4.2/specs
