I have installed 10g on 2 XP Pro (sp2) machines. On machine X, in order to
connect to the db without getting the ora-12154 error, I have to use:
'sqlplus scott/[Email Address Removed] This machine uses Zone Alarm (not
Windows Firewall). This machine uses a static IP.



On the other machine I can connect with no problem using 'sqlplus
scott/[Email Address Removed] This machine uses Norton Internet (not Windows
Firewall). This machine also uses a static IP.



Any ideas on what is causing the problem on machine X would be greatly
appreciated.
