I have a db that is hot backed up using rman and a media manager using a
catalog.
For a special migration I stopped the db and took a cold backup. The
migration failed. I restored from the cold backup. After which rman backups
had trouble backing up logs.
Since the cold backup and restore were done without rman's knowledge, what
do I have to do to the catalog to get things in sync again?
crosscheck archivelogs all; failed.
reset database; came back with incarnation already registered. (as I recall)
The archive log number that was getting the error was 4206, there was no
4206. I removed (delelted) many logs that did not seem to be known to RMAN,
and reran the crosscheck, and eventually the rman backup started working.
But there must be a cleaner way.
