ThankYou!!!! Edward, John. Appreciate your pointers very much.
John, looks like if you create table without referencing the lob column it will work. I haven't tried it as my table is huge. But, I am going to use the export/import options because I can use plsql with it as I have logic to implement to discard some old data and manipulate some old data. I cannot create a copy of the old table as users enter rows into the old system realtime.
This is what I am going to do-
create a cursor that gets all the old table rows, process each row as per logic needed, determine row to transfer to the new database, then use export import option to export the old clob column data into a file and then import it back into the new clob column.
Excellent! ThankYou! All.
Regards,
Manasa.
