Hi,

We are doing the hot backup directly using rman and no third party tool
is involved.

We are using a rman repository and it is present on a different database
server.

There is no autobackup of controlfile.

Are you using some kind of third party product to doe the hot backup

rman, or are you using just rman.

Have yu configured rman to autobackup the controlfile or haven't you
done
that ?

We are on Oracle 9i & Windows 2003 server. We used to take a hot backup
of database regularly using the RMAN. Recently our disk failed and we
lost all the datafiles and oracle binaries.

My question is, after I install the oracle server on a new disk, How do
I restore the database. Can somebody give me the initial steps of this
restore?
