Subject: SQL loader error.ORA-12560 TNS:protocol adapter error
Trying to load some files via sqlldr. I have searched for documents
that will explain the reason and help me to solve the error. but have
not found anything that I can try.
First I'm running sqlldr from my laptop. (I have oracle 9i client tools
installed). I'm trying to connect to one of my instances on our
network.
I am executing from the command line of my laptop. sqlldr id/pwd
control=controlfilepath\controlfile
now I cannot find any plase where I can enter the Instance name. mine
in this case is ECST. my tsnames.ora file has MANY oracle instances in
it. and I cannot find a way to help it distinquish where I'm trying to
connect. the controlfile has all the other pertinent information. a
colleague has helped me. They usually run this but can not since their
new laptop doesn't have the sqlldr installed. So I'm trying to run it.
We have executed this the same she has done many times but are getting
this error.
Any help or direction would be great.
Regards,
Ken
