Configuration Prob: HP MSA 30 with Linux

Dear DBAs,

We have HP MSA 30 DB and HP Servers 380 G4. I am facing some difficulties in
configuring this shared storage with Linux AS 4.

I did following steps.

I have created an array and volume using ACU on SmartStartd CD. Now my Linux
detected it as /dev/cciss/s1d0

Do i still need some drivers for linux?

I did following:

1. used fdisk and created a primary partition on it as s1d0p1

2. mkfs -t ext3 /dev/cciss/c1d0

3. mkdir /mkdata

4. edit the /ets/fstab and add this line /dev/cciss/c1d0 /mkdata ext3
default 1 1

5. reboot the system, it did not recognized the filesystem and superblock, i
had to remove this line from fstab to boot the system.

Pl help me and tell if did something wrong or missed something.

Waiting

Umar
