Hello all,



Today I ran into an issue where I was suddenly unable to start up my
database. I am now trying to export to a DMP file, and am experiencing
problems with the export function.



First off, when I try to start the db from EM, the db will mount, but when I
try to open the db, it crashes back to the startup page of EM. I can go to
sql> connect and connect to the db, and I can also TNSping the listener.



I have checked my services and everything is running. I have also followed
some advice and added a TNS_ADMIN string in the LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE >
ORACLE registry pointing to where the TNS file resides. In addition, in the
registry at Ora home0 I have set the ORA (SID) AUTOSTART to TRUE and
SHUTDOWN to FALSE.



Here's what's happening when I attempt the export under the above mentioned
setup:



EXP-00056: ORACLE error 1033 encountered

ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress



Any suggestions?
