RE: unable to connect using @<sid>

1. If you are using .world in tnsnames or listner.ora remove .world and try.
2. Try checking the syntex, make sure there is no space after brackets in tnsnames.

Looks like you have a problem with either tnsnames.ora or listener.ora on your database box. You need to check those over and make sure that the database you want to connect to is listed in both files. The directory is $ORACLE_HOME/tns/admin (if you are on a Unix server).

Subject: unable to connect using @<sid>

hello, all,

i have 2 10g instances on a single server. i can connect using sqlplus

with <user>/<password> but cannot using <user>/<password>@<sid>.

however, i can do so from an sqlplus session on a remote box. the error

message is as follows:

ERROR:

ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.

any leads to what i should look at would be appreciated.
