Which one is your local database, if it's one micorsoft OS,then check the
regedit file, and check the ORACLE_SID string. you should connect like
this
system/[Email Address Removed] << this is the name listed in the regedit.

on Unix Solaris check the .profile

more .profile and see which one is your default database
