1. You can back them up together with the rest of your database
2. You can restore them together with the rest of your database
3. When some inadvertently deletes an image file from your
directory, your database has no knowledge of that; not so if you store
them in the database
4. You have far better and more security possibilities
...
...

In my opinion you must defend the decision to store them in a file
system instead of in the database

Can anyone provide me with valid reasons for storing images within the
