As Sampath mentioned both are almost same with slightest difference.

-- Instance recovery can be more appropriately used in RAC setup where
only one instances crashes out of many.
-- Crash recovery is referred as the recovery of all the instances in
RAC environment (or) Recovery of the only instance in a single node
environment.

both instance recovery and crash recovery are same. during instance
recovery committed transactions are rolled forward by applying redologs

and uncommitted transaction are rolled back using undo segments.
