You're right that a little help can go a long way, and I can state that
I've lend a helping hand lots of times; but if you have no idea of some
of the basics of Oracle, then any explanation is of no value whatsoever.
Furthermore, if you have to ask this basic sort of questions I shudder
to think of what would happen when this type of DBA's (?) are faced with
a complex recovery operation.
