You don't need to touch the database at all ... why would you want to
export/import?
Just install another ORACLE_HOME (EE version) and repoint the oratab file to
the new Oracle_Home.
You will also need to move your init.ora/spfile to the new location - and
update the %_dump_dest location in those files - but really that's all you
need to do.
When you restart the instance it should come up as an enterprise edition
one.

Subject: Upgrade Standard to Enterprise Edition
Hi All,
Am looking to upgrade our 9i solaris db from Standard to Enterprise Edition.
Was going with the approach of exporting the data out, de installing SE,
installing EE and importing the data back in.
Was wondering if anyone has ever done this on solaris before (have heard of
probs on window with an unclean de install) and encountered any problems or
if any one had any tips or advice (perhaps there is an alternative way to do
this) on this process?
Thanks in advance, Jim.
