Exactly, utilise the memory you have on your server.

I would also note that you have upgraded to a very old, unsupported and
bug-ridden version of Oracle. We run all of our Oracle 9i databases at a
minimum patch version of 9.2.0.7 as we found everything below that had
too many bugs for our liking. I suggest that you upgrade to a more
stable version.

The error message indicates that the "Large Pool" is too small so you
are probably using Shared Server? I have seen the same error in the
same circumstances.
You have plenty of memory so follow Naim's advice and also try a Large
Pool size of 256MB.
Also, do you need to be in Shared Server mode (see previous thread)?

Increase the shared pool size and db_cache_size by atleast 100m

Please help me

We have upgraded the database from Oracle8i Release 8.1.5.0.0 to
Oracle9i
Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.1.1.

We had some errors occuring as follows
1) When the users logged in it work for sometime smoothly and afterwards
it
starts giving error.

(ORA-04031 unable to allocate ____ bytes of shared memory("large pool",
"unknown object","hash-join subh","kllcqc:kllcsqit)

Shared pool size is 250MB,db_block_size 4k, db_cache_size 33554432.
we have server with 4 processor and 4 GB RAM.

please help
