RE: Database clonning.

RE: Database clonning.

OK - simply said - copy all the files from source to target. Once done, run
adcfgclone.pl and answer all questions such as the node name, SID, port you
want for the instance etc.....

If you are running Oracle Apps, then you must run this script twice - once
for the dBTier and also for the AppsTier. This utility will configure all
necessary files and ports.

Good Luck!!

Hi,

Your question is very generic and therefore hard to answer specifically.

I'll give it a try:

If you are using unix and do a full restore on a standalone server, it
should work.

If you are using windows and do a full restore on a standalone server,
it should work.

In most cases you are in a network, which means unique ip addresses and
servernames, and you don't do full restores but install a server with a
OS and after that you install the oracle software.

On Unix you should look at /etc/oratab, listener.ora and tnsnames.ora,
pfile/spfile; on windows you should look at pfile/spfile, listener.ora
and tnsnames.ora, and create the services using oradim

May be you better ask somenone with more experience to help you.

Regards,

Ytzen
