Hmmm, unfortunately, I only have to to reply and let you know I do not

As far as A1, B1, I would simply assume that since Oracle already has
the answer, it did not need to get it again but used the answer it
already had for A1.

Its only that before returning any results to a query that the oracle
database locks the data, so as to output a snapshot/copy of the data
that was existent at the time when query was just fired. Thats what we
call time consistent data output.
Or it may be the case that for all the occurences of Date and time
values in a query at a given time, Oracle's SQL Parser caches or
replaces the values for all trailing ocurences(for similar tags ex-
sysdate, sysdate, systimestamp, systimestamp ect) that it had retrieved
for the very first occurence when a query gets fired.

However, your results don't discount my theory that the times are
processed through the CPU sequentially. What it proves is that you
cannot depend on the order that they are selected. :)

processing stuff does'nt seems to work.

second, which to me suggests they went to the CPU sequentially:

Well, I dont know whats the intended use of Getdate().
But in Oracle 9i,
select current_timestamp, systimestamp from dual;
gives you almost the same results.But which one is more accurate has yet
to be discovered.

Can anyone provide some insight into why these two commands would return
different values. We did some testing of the patches on the new day
light savings time schedule this weekend. During the testing it was
brought to light that these two commands were returning different
values. Formatting aside, they were different. Should these not return
that same data and time?
